ELECTIONS PROCESS
Nominations open 12pm Friday 20th Nov, and close 12pm Friday 27th Nov. Forms must be deposited into the JCRC mailbox in the post room by the closing time (the key can be obtained from the porter).

Hustings will then be held at The Courtyard, 7pm Friday 27th Nov. There, nominees have 3 minutes to give a speech and will then answer questions from the audience.

Voting will open 12am 28th Nov, and will close midday 4th Dec. Voting will be online at yusu.org.

Results are to be announced at the Christmas Ball on the 6th December.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
- Each candidate (or group) must be nominated (and seconded twice) by any three members of Langwith College. No member may nominate more than one candidate for the same position, and the Returning Officers must not nominate any candidates.

- Campaigning must not start until nominations are closed.

- Langwith JCRC would like to encourage active campaigning for votes during this election. Please remember to be considerate at all times – do not perform door knocks at unsociable hours (before 8am or after 10pm), or place promotional material in areas that break fire regulations.

- You must not combine publicity when running for different positions.

- Be mindful that potentially offensive campaign literature can do more harm than good, and that it is important to aim your campaign at all voters. Any literature perceived to be offensive may be removed.

- You must not remove or deface any material that is not your own, and your own literature must not feature personal attacks on any other candidate.

- Please feel free to post campaigning material on the official election Facebook group – “Langwith JCRC Elections - for 2010 Committee”- but it is not permitted to use mailing lists that all candidates do not have access to. For example, this means that use of Facebook will be limited to personal profile pictures and status updates. In the spirit of a fair election, apply these restrictions sensibly to other social networking sites.

- All promotional material must be paid for by candidates, but their spending must not exceed £10.

- If it is the case that the Returning Officer deems a candidate or group to have campaigned unfairly, sanctions may be applied, up to removal from the election.
